BIMAL Report
The 600G abdominal machine is an effective machine for exercising the upper, middle and lower stomach musculature. The upright position is preferred over the recumbent favoured position by other manufacturers, as that position has the disadvantage of having to overcome body weight plus gravity, so that the progression of grading is more finite. The 600G also reduces the compressive forces through the lumbar spine as the pivot axis is truer to the motion of flexion and allows for normal compensatory patterns unlike the recumbent abdominal machine. The cam profile ensures that the upper, middle and lower abdominals are loaded, the variance in the foot plates either allows or reduces the recruitment of the hip flexors during flexion of the lumbar spine and pelvis.
The machine is effective for the following conditions:
• Sacroiliac joint lesions
• Early, intermediate and late stage hip flexor lesions
• Early, intermediate and late stage abdominal lesions
• Superficial inquinal ring lesions
• Symphysis pubis lesions
• Lumbar spine disc lesions
• Lumbar spine facet lesions
• Postural re-education
• Respiratory re-education
